Easter.. a time of renewal.. THANK YOU

Family pictures were Sunday afternoon. Lets just say the kids were less than cooperative. It was a heck of a day. One of those days where at the end of it the ONLY answer is ice cream... Sigh...It was miserable, but the glorious glorious happy part was today...when I got the pictures back.. I will let them speak for themselves

So the crazy day had great rewards... HOWEVER the following day.. not so much. Having a daycare is the HARDEST JOB I HAVE EVER DONE... can i repeat that? HARDEST JOB EVER. I have to do stuff I have never done before, there are days I do not sit.. there are times I want to go sit in another room and cry.. ha ha anyway Monday.. WOW it was a rough day.. we had a kid throw a fake vaccum at my 1 year olds head.. same kid punch my other daughter in the face because I made him share. NO NAPS and my oldest was home sick....can we say aneurysm... I think that would have been better... lol

Onto today... Today was great. I tried on my bridesmaids dress that had to be taken up another 2 inches on each side 10 inches in all...:) I am ubber excited about that. Went by the grocery and did a super awesome coupon job saved a butt load of money.. The girls were so cute. Maddy was pushing her little buggie and saying.. "MOM do we need cookies??" "MOM...do we need pudding" ha ha it was terrific. Morgan was all smiles as we went to the bakery and got them both cookies. We came home, Morgan went to sleep and Maddy and I dyed Easter eggs that I had bolied and we made Easter cupcakes.. Such and amazing day.

I am so happy for Easter. It is a time of renewal, a time for changes, and a time for remembering the sacrifices that have been given for us. I hope everyone has a safe and blessed Easter full of love and Family time!!

Change is good... Right??

After much deliberation, conviction, thought, screaming, crying, yelling, and downright thinking, I left my job to stay at home. There were piles of reasons other than to spend more time with my kids that I will not get into, for those who worked with me, you know them, but i did it. My last day was the 25th. It was sad and happy all at the same time. I will miss my friends dearly, but i know this is where I need to be.

On another note Jon has left Post end, for personal reasons, and he and I have been working on music together. Its a blue-grassy folksy feel, but we like it. I have not sang in front of people without being in a group setting so this is very different for me. I am still being way too timid as my husband points out every time we record or practice.. I wish it were just that easy, to just sing, but I guess i fear so much that I will get a negative reaction that I just would rather not risk it. Guess I need to get over that seeing that we have a gig the 12th and 25th of April. We have chosen the name Strother Pass. It comes from an old mail route that runs through Cotton Town. It actually runs behind Jonathon's dads house, and when I first went out there to meet his dad and Step Mother It was one of the first things his dad told me about. It is so interesting, and we relate to it so much that it just worked for our name :)Its really a lot of fun working with him on something he has always been so passionate about.. even if we are getting NO sleep. LOL

I also started selling Pampered chef, which for me is not hard. I love the stuff :) It makes me happy, and people paying me to tell them how much I love the stuff and how they should buy it, well that makes me happy too.

Onto the kiddos.. Maddy is in the process of being potty trained.. YES fully potty trained. right now she is peeing like a pro, i just have to make her understanding the secondary component of toilet training.. Guess it will all take some time. Issak has made the AB honor roll all year :) He is so so soooo smart. he makes me smile. And Morgan ahh Jeez, everyday with her is amazing she just grows and does something new all the time.I am so blessed to stay at home and see these things now :)

To each I will leave you with a quote from my fave show of the moment "Trying is the first step to sucking" :Raising hope:

The Sickness Continues

No one has my luck...

Yeah yeah you may think you do.. BUT YOU DONT..

NO you don't.. trust me

Right when we are smooth sailing from a stomach virus it comes and knocks on our door

BUM BUM BUM

The flu.

It hit Jon first taking him out.. then Madalynn, then me of course as I was the nurse. Morgan got it last. (Issak stayed flu free)

Getting through a week of that was wonderful, but Saturday Morgan started coughing hard, it got increasingly worse i took her to the doctor to discover that she had Bacterial pneumonia.Breathing treatments every 2 hours Steroids and a very tired Mommy. Sigh..

I have missed 2 weeks of work with no pay mind you. Depressed doesn't even begin to cover my feelings right now.I am tired, overwhelmed, heartbroken, and pretty alone. Sigh.. but outside of the sickness.. we had a pretty crazy January. Issak just completed his first full week of school in 2011, BUT WAIT there is forecast in the snow tomorrow.. LOL ...We have had ridiculous weather..

My weight loss is a no go so far... I lost 5lbs then gained 2 the lost 4 then gained 2.. Sigh I have been stressed because of the sick crap and basically eating whatever is in the house instead of eating the healthy stuff. I am starting a cleanse Monday to get rid of the toxins. Wish me luck.

Maddy will not sleep. she has been staying up until the wee hours of the morning.. IE why I am typing this so late. She is up roaming the halls.. my little Satan.. LOL

If you will excuse me I have to go start a breathing treatment because Daddy forgot it before bed.. Sigh February PLEASE BE GENTLE

What a life...

New year.. New rules!

So my new years resolution was to keep my blog updated monthly... So here goes :) Our Christmas here at the Harris house was wonderful. Full of live, and the spirit. I am so very sad it is over. New years was probably one of the best and most entertaining parties we have had. I am in love with being surrounded by people I love, who love me as well. So now it's 2011. another resolution of mine was to run a marathon this year. I signed up for the music city marathon in April, and I also plan on doing one for Breast Cancer awareness. Wish me luck, I have another 40 lbs togo until goal!! Issak is getting bigger ever day.. I CAN NOT BELIEVE he is 7.. My little first grader is growing up, and it baffles me!

Maddy... Oh boy.. my little spit fire. She is getting big and growing up, and.. just.. WOW she is definitely paying me back 10-fold to the kind of child i was.. DEFINITELY

and Morgan... My sweet angel... She is walking, talking, on wole milk... She is nto a baby anymore, and I HATE IT... I do not want her to grow up. I miss her dependency.. but she is still so sweet, and oh how she loves her mommy.. She will be a year old in about a month....

There is a look into the last month or so of our life... More to come

The true "meaning" of a crap day.

So.. Everyone's bound to have them ever so often. A day that throws off everything you have ever known about bad days. Well let me address the wonderful weekend I had planned. First with good intentions, and family time in mind, My 3 day weekend was to consist of, Spending Saturday with my family. We were going to go visit my Grandparents, go pick up my best Friends daughter (might as well be my niece) Hannah, and go to the Park. What happened would actually break my heart. I was pushing Hannah and Maddy in the swings. Morgan was in her stroller watching right next to me.. LOVING IT.. of course (She is such an amazing baby) Issak was being pushed by daddy. It was a GEORGEOUS day! Maddy decided she wanted to go "push" Issak. I told Jon and got Maddy out of her swing.. She walked the very short distance between Jon and I, and at the last minute decided she wanted to swing in the swing next to Issak. She darted out in front of Issak before Jon or I had a secod to react, and Issak t-boned her with his feet directly in the chest. This made her do this flip sort of action and land at Issaks feet directly on her face. It was AWFUL. Maddy laid there for what seemed like 45 minutes (but was truley maybe 5 seconds) Jon grabbed her, she was not berathing. Issak had knocked the wind out of her when he hit. I grabbed her and ran to the van (which was across the park). I couldn't see her little face it was so covered in dirt mud and blood. After I got all the dirt off I realkized her nose was 3 times what it should be. At this point I am freaking.. ALSO can I just say how amazing it was that people came to help my husband with the other 3 kids, and got the Park police to come help me.

--------> side note: People can be jerks ok? But in this instance, it seriously let me know that there really are good people here. God has out them here. And God bless them for helping.

I took Maddy to the ER while my AMAZINGLY AWESOME husband took the other 3 children home... might I add ( a 7 month, 1 year and 6 year old..) Poor guy. At the er they did an Xray and Cat Scan to determine if she had a concussion. No concussion but Yes her nose is broken.. My poor baby.

I AM SUCH A CRAPPY MOM
HOW COULD I LET THIS HAPPEN.
MY DAUGHTER IS GOING TO HATE ME!
I..
Am....
such...
a....
BAD....
mom!
It makes me want to cry, but I had to be strong for her to let her know it was going to be ok. After a demerol shot and lots of loving from the nurses and doctor, we went home.

---------> Side note... FYI: Demerol= HYPER
Thus ended a horrific Saturday.
We missed church Sunday.. (it seems I have done way to much of that lately) Kids being sick, Jon having gigs etc.. Too much going on..
I...
SUCK...!
Jon had a gig so he was gone all Sunday. I was here with the kiddos.. primarily it was a great morning, That afternoon we went to "Hoot and Yaya's" On the way... Jon stopped for Gas, the gas station was not working.. Yes not working
SERIOUSLY!
After waiting for about 15 minutes, we drove to another Gas station, upon the arrival there Jon realizes he left his gas cap on the top of the truck... and it is well.. GONE.. GREAT
REALLY??
WHO HAS THIS LUCK??
ME!!
I
DO!
We made it to "Hoot and YaYa's" and the kids rode an old power wheel chair of P.O's (yeah that's how we do it)

We stopped for Chinese (me NOT EVEN getting what I wanted.. DARN DIET), came home to find that the seal of our toilet is broken. Yeah broken..
SOOOO the water keeps running, and has been all day apparently..
CAN'T
WAIT
FOR
MY
WATER
BILL!
We went to bed only to be woke up the entire night by a little girl (Morgan) who just didn't feel like sleeping.
Monday, feeling exhausted and a tad bit crabby, we still ventured to the zoo. Want to know how stupid I am? Try attempting the zoo, on labor day, with 3 kids, one of which has a broken nose. HA HA do you know how this ended? We actually had to leave after barely making it to the bamboo, (for those of you who don't know that's not even a fourth of the way through it) (Thank goodness for passes) We went to Apple bees to get some food, The hostess wouldn't seat us (we were with our good friends Chris and Rustin and their little guy Landyn.. and yes we drug them through this horrid day) We asked the guy if he could combine some tables, and he said no "fire regulations" We finally (after 20 minutes) got a table. No silver ware, not menus.. etc.. waited 10 minutes for our drinks.. They got Jon's order wrong once, Chris's wrong twice. Brought me no dressing for my salad. And the Manager basically didn't care.. UGGGHHHH
REALLY
COULD THIS BE ANY WORSE...
I MEAN C'MON
We hit traffic on the way home..Once we got there and I fixed dinner we all sat down to eat where Landyn immediately puked all over himself. (poor guy) He then acted as if he was having an asthma attack.. ETC His parent ended up having to take him to the er.
Now its TUESDAY.. and 2 of my kids have woke up with fevers.. the others nose is broken.

This was such a disheartening weekend. I did however enjoy spending time with my family and my kids. It was so nice seeing my husband and being at home, and getting a lot of chores done.

Weekends like this, make me appreciate the normalcy of my life, when we do not have complicated weekends and stuff is just normal.

Praying for a better weekend coming up..

Down and out

You ever have such a busy life and busy schedule that when the end of the week comes, you look back wondering what you really accomplished?? Yeah that is where I am at right now. I am just so tired of busy ness. Sometimes I feel like I can't even enjoy the family I have created. You know it is not just my schedule.. My husband is pretty busy as well.. I know other families go through this rut, but I almost feel like the rut is never ending. Work and trying get fit, excercising, baths healthy dinners etc.. Sometimes its just too much. I honestly feel like sometimes I am drowning. Please do not mistake this for complaining, because I am not. I love my kids, my husband, my house, my life, but some days I am so bombarded, overwhelmed, and just.... well... tired. I know other people go through this.. Is there a way to organize your life more? I don't have gaps to put things most of the time. I know this wil get better, but at this moment, I am just B L A H
